Winter Whites - A DO!!!

Ahhh...the age old myth of not wearing white after Labor day!  Absolutely - That is only a myth!  Nothing says the holidays and cold crisp weather, and a reminder of what snow would look like (regardless of where you live), than wearing beautiful cozy winter whites!! Think fuzzy collars, ruffles, fleece hats and coats, warm snugly scarves, ALL in white!  If you need more proof, just look at the new winter collections and 2010 fall runway styles of Chanel, Valentino, Anna Sui, Marc Jacobs etc and see how much white has been incorporated in their collections!

A few tips when wearing winter whites -

1.  The number one tip is to wear nude/beige undergarments!  The biggest myth is to wear white under white - NO!  Big fashion faux pas!  It shows up more!  Only beige/nude/ tan colored will not show up under the white and looks classy!

2.  Keep a theme going!  While Whites match both silver and/or gold, it is better to pick a theme and stick to it!  If you chose earring with gold accents, then keep the accents throughout!  Of course, you can be bold enough and pick vibrant colors to accent the white outfit, but nothing says innocence and purity more than white and subtel shine! So keep the accents as well as tones very neutral (oatmeal, beige etc)

4.  When wearing white, keep makeup to a minimum to maintain the look.  Stick to either very light shades of pink, or beige colors.  White outfits are BEST complimented by makeup with shine and glistening highlights!  Even gold tones in the eye shadow, lipstick, really bring out your natural skin tone as well as accentuate the brightness of the whites!

5.  When wearing white pants, wear nude shoes, or beige boots to lengthen your legs and make you seem even taller!

Remember - Nothing stands out more at a party than a Little White Dress (LWD).  Yes, the LBD is always in and evergreen, but want to really make a statement - show up in a LWD!  You will be amazed at how many heads you turn!  Personality can be an added bonus!
